About Leap

At Leap, we believe the future of retail is omnichannel and the next generation of brands belong in neighborhoods, not just on screens. Today, the Leap platform powers retail across over 100 stores for 50 brands with ambitions of scaling to thousands of stores and hundreds of brands.

We don’t just operate stores, we bring brands to life - with built in advantages powered by data, systems and scale. Whether you’re based at our NYC headquarters or on the front lines at one of our stores, we are one team with aligned goals. We move with disciplined urgency to solve the challenging complexities of retail, ensuring that every store we launch and operate is high-performing and every shopper always feels welcomed.

While our platform provides the data and infrastructure across our +100 stores, our people are the key to our success. We are looking for smart, energized individuals who are ready to act as owners and help us build our platform - both in-store and at HQ. So, come take this leap with us and help us rewrite the future of retail.

The Role

We are seeking an Email Marketing Manager to serve as a strategic leader and hands-on creator for our B2C messaging channels, driving awareness, traffic and sales to our physical stores as well as attributable revenue to the brand's websites. Operating with a "Chief of Staff" mentality, you will be instrumental in shaping and refinding Leap’s B2C positioning. Leading a small and scrappy agency, you’ll directly handle everything from high-level segmentation strategy to writing copy and approving template designs. You will be responsible for creating workflows with internal partners and brands to build, deploy, and optimize a content calendar that drives awareness and foot traffic to our Powered by Leap stores - ultimately driving loyalty and retention of the Leap Shopper.

The ideal candidate is a rare blend of strategist and hands-on creator. You are excited to lead an agency and partner cross-functionally while not afraid to jump into Figma and Klaviyo to build layouts, write copy, and deploy templates yourself. You thrive on segmenting customer data to optimize open and click rates and maintain a relentless focus on driving email channel return on investment (ROI). You will seamlessly transition between high-level marketing strategy and the in-the-weeds analysis and optimizations to bring that vision to life.

Location

This role is based in New York City, with the expectation to be in the office at least 3 days a week.

Core Responsibilities

  • Email & SMS Production: Create, own, and execute the B2C email and SMS marketing calendar in partnership with Leap cross-functionals (merchants, retail success, onboarding). Manage Klaviyo ESP to increase online and in-store retail traffic.
  • Agency Management: Manage and collaborate with third-party agencies to oversee creative development and technical execution. Maintain the ability to directly manage campaigns, when needed.
  • Optimization & Testing: Develop and deploy test-and-learn methodologies to drive impact. Run A/B tests on subject lines, layout designs, and sending times while building high-converting automated flows (e.g., Welcome, Now Open, Post-Purchase).
  • Performance Analysis: Extract and analyze campaign data to monitor and optimize open rates, click-through rates, and revenue. Package these insights to prove channel ROI to internal leadership and external brand partners.
  • Develop Scalable Playbooks: Work closely with our internal Retail Success teams and brand partners to develop email marketing packages that deliver measurable sales and traffic.

Qualifications

  • Email Expertise: 3-5 years of experience running email marketing channels, with a proven track record of using email/SMS to drive traffic in a retail or consumer goods environment.
  • Klaviyo & Campaign Execution: Deep, practical command of Klaviyo is preferred, including customer segmentation, automated flow build-outs, and direct, hands-on campaign deployment.
  • Retail Understanding: Knowledge of the retail, including seasonal promotional calendars, major holiday peak cycles, inventory drops, and store promotions.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong quantitative skills with direct experience navigating data platforms like Looker and Klaviyo dashboards to trace email attribution, build internal and external performance updates, and track omnichannel ROI.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to confidently present campaign-specific analytics and performance data to internal leaders and external brand partners.
  • Entrepreneurial Mentality: A highly efficient, self-sufficient department of one with a strong bias for action and a relentless drive to maximize revenue.

Outcomes and Measure of Success

  • In-Store Traffic Generation: Measurable increase in high-intent customer foot traffic driven directly by targeted campaigns and automated location-based flows (e.g., store opening alerts, geo-targeted drops).
  • Attributable Revenue: Consistent growth in both e-commerce and in-store revenue directly attributed to the email and SMS channels.
  • Flawless Campaign Execution: Error-free, on-time deployment of the entire B2C messaging calendar, high inbox placement, and minimal unsubscribe or spam complaint rates.
  • KPI Reporting: Clearly communicate data driven reporting, both internally and externally.
