The Role:
The Retail Success Area Manager drives store performance through direct operational leadership of one store and oversight of up to 3 additional brands/stores. This role ensures operational excellence, strong financial results, and exceptional experiences for brand partners, store teams, and shoppers.


Core Responsibilities:

Retail Performance & Operations

  • Oversee a select group of stores, managing store performance and applying strategies to improve sales, customer satisfaction, and operational processes.
  • Implement sales strategies tailored to the local market, utilizing customer data to drive store performance indicators, including foot traffic, conversion, units, and average transaction values.
  • Ensure stores meet Leap's operational standards, including visual merchandising, inventory accuracy, and customer experience.
  • Identify operational challenges impacting store performance and partner with the Director, Retail Success to develop scalable plans to address inefficiencies.

Team Development & Management

  • Directly manage a store team, as well as other Store Managers, providing guidance on customer service, sales performance, and professional development.
  • Lead and manage recruitment, training, and retention efforts to build strong, engaged teams.
  • Assist with day-to-day store management and act as a resource for addressing performance challenges or team needs.

Brand & Account Management

  • Partner closely with the Retail Director on store performance, providing business insights, and strategies to achieve sales, customer service, and operational standards. 
  • Lead regular brand check-ins to share insights and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Partner with brand stakeholders to lead renewal and extension initiatives, driving retention and long-term partnership success.
  • Apply strong financial acumen to review and validate brand billing statements, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with contractual agreements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Provide feedback from the field to support brand and store-level initiatives, helping drive performance and customer experience.
  • Report on key performance indicators and provide regular updates to the Retail Success Manager or Retail Director.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Growth team to support and execute expansion strategies across new and existing markets.

Outcomes & Measures of Success:

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales and operational targets within the assigned stores
  • Employee retention, employee engagement, roles filled
  • Brand NPS

Position Requirements:

  • Lead primarily from a designated home store while providing oversight and support to additional store locations within the region.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-unit or high-volume retail leadership, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships across internal teams, store staff, and external brand partners.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire remote, multi-store teams, driving elevated client experiences, operational excellence, and consistent business performance across markets.
  • Willingness and ability to travel weekly throughout Los Angeles County to support store teams, activations, and operational priorities.
  • Ability to travel out-of-state up to twice annually for training, team development, and leadership events.
  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Comfortable maintaining active floor presence while supporting stores, including standing/walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50lbs or using ladders when necessary.

Salary Range Transparency

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000. All corporate roles are eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
