About the role:

The Demand Generation Manager role is a unique opportunity to evaluate and partner with modern emerging brands with high growth, compelling value propositions, and passionate fans in a range of categories (e.g apparel/fashion, home goods, beauty, fitness, and more). This individual is responsible for sourcing high quality emerging brands by leveraging data, a team, and research to inform platform growth and category expansion to support our top of funnel efforts. You will be responsible for the sourcing strategy, brand outreach, programming, initial & subsequent meeting ultimately toward driving towards qualification and onboarding of qualified brands. You will be responsible to leverage data to inform sourcing strategies to recruit the next set of brands as they take next steps towards omnichannel retail. The individual in this role will serve as a key face of the company in the market working to generate new opportunities with highly desirable brands by attending industry events, engaging with, and holding initial exploratory meetings with prospective brand customers. Via highly methodical programming and continuous optimization through demand funnel expansion, customer profile refinement, data around brand location and scoring, this individual will ultimately drive growth on the platform


In collaboration with our Brand Management and Product teams, the Demand Generation Manager will help develop and run point on demand generation programs and regularly refine, develop, and commercialize our top of funnel demand activities to specifically move a brand from ‘prospecting’ to ‘qualification’ stages to support our brand customer expansion efforts/platform growth. This is the right role for an entrepreneurial, strategic thinker who likes to lead from the front lines and fundamentally understands business development, demand generation and platform growth and has the desire and capacity to play a critical role in building a rapid growth company. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate and accelerate the lead journey from 'prospecting' to 'qualified' by owning target categories and hit lists for new Leap pipeline generation
  • Manage and optimize commercial-grade systems to drive new brand acquisition 
  • You will build, manage, and accelerate the initial front line BD team to optimize and scale efforts to deliver against key growth objectives
  • The Demand Generation Manager will be the champion of the experimentation process in order to drive more account learnings
  • Optimize state of the art CRM program/systems/e.g. Hubspot/SalesForce, to create workflows and efficiencies amongst the growth team
  • Collaborate with marketing efforts to generate top of funnel leads (e.g. creating content calendars, co-creating copy, sequence planning, and analysis on monthly performance)
  • Responsible for finding/reporting on trends and formulating overall learnings from weekly lead generation and initiatives
  • Work with Marketing, Tech, Real Estate, and Brand Management to align for visibility on BD funnel as well as support improvements that impact the client onboarding process
  • Assist, respond and address brand responses via our self guided onboarding brand platform, Intercom

In your first month, you will:

  • Develop and execute against new prospect lists and dive into data around prior learnings on well performing hit categories 
  • Address business needs on where to ramp up efforts prospecting efforts as far as sourcing, prospecting, and outreach to qualified brands to join the Leap platform. 
  • Drive brands through top of funnel from prospecting to qualification stage 

Desired experience and attributes:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in managing demand generation efforts, demonstrating significant and measurable results
  • Someone who is entrepreneurial, resourceful, and can work with minimal guidance
  • Ability to write effective copy, communicate well, and present
  • Strong high level working knowledge of modern emerging brands, retail, and e-commerce industry landscapes
  • Strong teamwork skills including experience with cross-functional team collaboration
  • Someone who is a self-starter, highly accountable, and has a strong ability to anticipate problems and implement effective solutions; high output
  • Startup experience a plus 

Outcomes & measures of success:

  • Create framework to commercialize top of funnel BD team 
  • Manage top of funnel efforts to add, develop and land new commercial partnerships until handoff to bottom of funnel account executives
  • Develop, test, and scale unique onboarding flows for different customer cohorts by increasing Leap client onboarding process
  • Source and strategize weekly/monthly BD category hits to develop scalable lead generation and qualification framework 
  • Successfully represent Leap as the leading “Retail-as-a-Service” Platform in the marketplace amongst brands, industry partners and peers
